I’m Todd…
I live in Seattle, Washington, but my obsession with travel began as a kid in remote northern New England. My family did not travel, but we hosted exchange students from all over the world. This unique and intense exposure to new cultures sparked a lifelong passion to discover what life is like all around the planet.
As a teenager, I found an opportunity to go abroad myself and decided to live and study in French-speaking Switzerland for one high school year (Shout out to AFS). That time abroad not only taught me the French language, but countless travel tricks and perks. I could now independently navigate Europe by train, taste lambic beer straight from the barrel, randonée ski through the Alps, and realize the joys of falling asleep listening to Swiss cowbells in a distant meadow. Once I fully understood the many (often random and surprising) benefits of travel abroad, my experience in Switzerland turned into two college semesters abroad. A tradition of travel was established early that I now prioritize throughout my adult life.
These days, I travel mostly with my partner, James, who thankfully shares my wanderlust. We spend months of intense research prior to each trip, compiling detailed itineraries from hundreds of sources (travel blogs, restaurant reviews, word-of-mouth), and I began this site to share not only my travels with the world, but also show the fruits of all this research by publishing my detailed findings after every trip -- filtered through my critical eye first, of course!
Unless noted, all photographs on this site were taken by me or James. Thank you for your visit and check back often!
